When I got my SMARTboard (now a little over a year ago), I started looking for help on the internet. I discovered some lessons by another elementary music teacher that had been uploaded to SMART Technologies Lesson Exchange (find it here). I tried them out in my classroom and they were a big hit!
In a previous post a few months ago, I listed my favorite free SMARTboard lessons that I had downloaded. I was pleasantly surprised when I got an email last month from the main contributor of those lessons, Cherie Herring.
Meet her here: http://cphmusic.blogspot.com/

Here is a portion of the email she sent:
I wanted to let you know that I have taken two of the files off the Exchange and have them linked from my blog site. I'd like to give you the new links so you can update your blog.
The Kindergarten Sub Lesson with activities can be downloaded from my DropBox at: http://db.tt/Zd9WWiPe
Instead of one large lesson, I have created several smaller files. Here are two of them - if you are interested. I have many more but I haven't uploaded them yet.
PreK-K Group lesson 2 can be downloaded at this link: http://db.tt/vXId67vc
PreK-K Group lesson 3 can be downloaded at this link: http://db.tt/44tTEvwl
Thanks again, Dee! Thanks for sharing!!!
Most Sincerely,
Cherie
I now follow Cherie's blog. We have both benefitted from each other and we have passed on what we learned to our followers (thus a PLN - Professional Learning Network)! How cool is that? Before technology and social media, I wouldn't have had a chance in a million of meeting Cherie (who lives a thousand miles away!) or finding her awesome lessons!
Get connected!

Hi,
My name is Cara and I'm a follower of your blog. In a recent post, you mentioned fiesta in San Antonio and I'm hoping you are, indeed, a San Antonio teacher. I teach on Lackland AFB and, since we only have the one elementary school and a jr/sr hs, I'm it as far as elementary music goes.
I'm reaching out because I would love to have you as a professional connection. This was my first year in SA (I'm originally from North Texas) and I'm looking forward to cultivating relationships with other music professionals.
Cara
